Blessed to be a blessing!
That’s a theme for the future. Not only with First Church of Lacey, but with every person who walks through our doors. We want the church experience to bless every person! Then every person can be a blessing to others in return.
One of the important things we all need to remember – we will never touch another person effectively with our lives unless we are willing to spend a few moments with others. The old adage is appropriate here, “You have two ears and one mouth; so, listen more than you speak!”
How will we know what someone needs without listening? How do we start the conversation? By speaking.
God speaks to Moses to speak this blessing to the children of Israel. Moses listens to the spoken voice of God, and in turn speaks to the children of Israel who are listening to him. Do you see the process? This is the way a pastor prepares to speak to the congregation – Listen, Then Talk. This is the way a Worship Leader prepares songs for the service – Listen, then Lead!
Allow me to use this today to bless you the reader and I hope you will use it in return to minister to those God has put into your path.
The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26 ESV)
Blessings to you all!
