Please come and let’s have a good day of Memories…

Special Memories of a Special Person
Rev Frank La Crosse went home to his reward. Monday. January 31, 2017. 11:55pm.
It is a happy time, as well as a sad time, as we prepare final goodbyes. If we are not careful we will let sadness rule the day. But for every child of God we know that this is also a very happy time. It was not premature. It is only after a long life lived for God that his time arrived.
Hence, I want to find the happiness in a servant of God finally getting to go home. This was Bro La Crosse’s wish every time I met him at the hospital.
I’m Doing Fine. Let’s Go Home!
If I’ve heard it once, I’ve heard it way too often this past year or so. I’m doing fine. Even when the ravages of time and age creeps on any one of us, to remember that our elder would only state, “I’m doing fine” teaches us to hold our heads high even when it seems the bottom is so close.
Let’s Go Home. We heard him say it Monday night several times. A time of prayer, and medical people galore. It was a blessing to have his son and daughter-in-law there. We all hoped to see him again at his home where he enjoyed time with his wife, Jean La Crosse, and feeding the squirrels in the back yard, or watching the beauty of the greenbelt. This home was a place where they entertained many folks over the past dozen years. Life-long friends, saints and connections from their years of being in the ministry.
It was a home bathed in love and care. Very comforting the first time you walked in, and on till the time it came to leave. But it was not Bro La Crosse’s final home. You see, that last time he uttered those words I believe he could already see his permanent home. Through that eternal veil that separates us from here and yonder, he was seeing what we are not yet privileged to experience. Here we are only travelers, sojourners for a very short time. But our home there is an eternal home. Forever. A blessed place we are looking forward to be.
A song came to my mind this past Tuesday and I’ve worn it’s welcome out in my home. Hopefully you will know it and will hum it as a memory of Rev Frank La Crosse.
I’m Longing For Home
For the sun goeth down.
I want to go where
Sweet Rest can be found!
I’m just about through
With this old house of clay.
I’m leaving this world!
For Glory someday.
We will be celebrating his life in a few weeks… Please check back in for an update in a week or so. Blessings to each of you!
